Logical Solutions, Inc. earned the opportunity to retrofit the mechanical and control systems at White Rock Tower in Dallas, TX. The original HVAC system was a built-up, refrigerant R-22 (HCFC) system with two Trane 120-ton reciprocating compressors, eight built up evaporator coils, and a cooling tower.

The retrofit included removing the entire refrigerant system, the cooling tower, and associated pumps. The new system includes six chilled water coils with bypass valve, a 250-ton air cooled York chiller, and one chilled water pump with VFD. Along with the mechanical retrofit, LSI was contracted to update the BMS throughout the midrise building with Automated Logic Corporation controls.

The system retrofit will give the owners and tenants years of reliable, energy efficient service, full building control, and 250 tons of capacity replacing a system that was energy inefficient and unreliable at best.
